Guided Quetico Canoe Trip

Here is a First aid Kit list that would be adequate for almost any length of trip. Certain highly specialized
items may be added as required for your group. Remember proper training is more important
than any item in your bag so be prepared and get the training before something happens. Put
water sensitive items in a waterproof bag.
– SAM Splint
– 1 J- Cloth
– 1 Triangular Bandage
– 1 tube triple polysporin
– 1 finger tip dressing
– Tincture of Benzoin compound
– 2 rolls of 2” sterile gauze
– Magnifying Lens
– 30 ml Hydrogen Peroxide
– 1 Film dressings Tegaderm/ Opsite
– 4 Nitrile gloves
– ¼ bar of yellow soap & Brush
– Dressing tape
– Benadryl 20 tablets
– 15 g Cortisone Cream (>0.5%)
– 6 IPA Alcohol wipes
– 3 “Large Band-aids
– 3 Abdominal pads
– 6 2”x2” sterile gauze pads
– Assorted Band-aids
– Sterile syringe & needle
– Suture strips “Steri-Strips”
– Bandage Shears
– Topical disinfectant (Iodine etc.)
– 2 roll elastic gauze
– Rescue mask
– Ibuprofen (12) 200 mg
– Imodium (Loperamide)
– Drug information cards
– Tweezers
– Moleskin &/or Molefoam
– Hemostat
– Elastic bands
– Diaper pins or Bandage clips
– Pad and pencil
– Sawyer extractor (ticks)
